What Does Spring Mean At Second Nature Wildlife Rehab?

This baby squirrel was taken from the nest by a cat and received a puncture wound to his shoulder.  He is just a few days old.

These Three baby squirrels are from the same litter, their nest was blown from the tree in high winds in recent weeks.  We are happy to report they now have their eyes open, are becoming more active and should be able to be weaned soon.

The photos below of the "older" babies are the updates.  See how they have grown!

These babies came to us from Harrisburg after their mom was trapped and relocated.  Two days later the babies were discovered!  We call them Itsy and Bitsy.

This is our new incubator!  We are delighted to have this in the nursery and believe it will be a great tool in helping us save even more little lives.
These babies are available for adoption.  For a small monthly donation ($15/squirrels; $20/raccoons) your adoption will provide you with a full color photo of your animal, the history of how it came to be at our center, monthly updates on their care and progress and an invitation to participate in their release when possible.  You will be able to name your animal!

This is Gidget.  Gidget was hand raised by a local couple and was confiscated by the IDNR after a house fire.  She is extremely tame and we are working hard to try to help her develop the skills she will need to be returned to the wild. We hope for success with Gidget, this is a perfect example of why wild animals should not be taken for pets!

These two youngsters were found at the base of a tree in Christopher after having fallen over 30 feet!  They have some spinal and head trauma and are having some trouble moving around.  We hope that with continued rest they will regain full use of their limbs.
