Stumble on a baby squirrel that has fallen from the nest? Baby raccoon found by the dog? Every year many wildlife animals become orphaned, injured abandoned and ill. Without knowledgeable assistance their fate would be bleak. They now have another chance with the help available at Second Nature Wildlife Rehabilitation. Located on 43 secluded acres outside of Thompsonville, IL, Second Nature is licensed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for the rearing and rehabilitation of animals for release back into the wild. We are available to serve all of Southern Illinois in the care of wildlife such as cottontails, squirrels, opossums, raccoons, groundhogs, fox, coyote and bobcat.
Second Nature Wildlife Rehabilition is dedicated to providing a sound environment that will care for all injured, abandoned, orpaned or ill wildlife. We will care for those in need physically, mentally and emotionally and assure the development of the necessary skills needed to be successfully returned to the wild.
At all times we will promote the preservation of wildlife thru education of the general public and especially our youth.
